Judges from South West In Bloom have already declared Trowbridge a winner, by announcing they will stage 2014’s awards ceremony in the town.

The decision came just days after they had hosted workshops and given tips on success for this year’s entrants in a seminar at the town’s Civic Centre.

Jennifer Polledri, the Trowbridge in Bloom chairman, said: “This event gave organisers of Trowbridge in Bloom an opportunity to show off their achievements and celebrate what the town has to offer to visitors.”

Mrs Polledri said she was delighted the Civic Centre had been selected to host the finale of next year’s competition and believes it will bring an estimated 400 visitors into Trowbridge.

There was a series of presentations during the seminar, which was held last Thursday.

South West in Bloom chairman Jon Wheatley said: “The Royal Horticul-tural Society Bloom is one of the most exciting initiatives in the UK.

“It gives us all a quality vehicle whereby we can improve our environment and engage the community in providing local services at the same time as having fun.”

In the last two years, Trowbridge’s entries have won a gold award from South West in Bloom.
