A fine time was had by all at a Creative Nostalgia event in aid of Dorothy House on Saturday.

During the vintage afternoon, visitors to Southwick scout group’s headquarters had a chance to buy homemade craft items and watch some of the artists weaving their magic on vintage machinery.

The event raised £201 for the Winsley charity and the organiser, Verity Scott, is keen to run more in the future.

She said: “It was the first time that we had organised something like this on a large scale and we had a good turnout of people of all ages.

“I thought it was a big success and will certainly be looking at holding similar events in the future.”

The sewing teacher, who holds workshops at the Magpie Art Café, in War-minster, and who makes wedding dresses, is also looking into launching a men only sewing club.
