Car stops line painters in their tracks

The gap in the road where the car was parked
New double yellow lines in Warminster could not be completed last week – because a driver parked where Wiltshire Council had planned to paint them.
Paul Batchelor, the town’s deputy mayor, took the picture of the incomplete lines which he found along Bradley Road.
As workmen for Wiltshire Council were unable to finish the job, they extended lines as far as possible under the vehicle so that after the car had moved the space would be too small for anyone else to park on.
The workmen, from contractor Ringway, were due to return to Bradley Road this week to complete the painting.
A spokesman for Wiltshire Council said: “When we are due to paint yellow lines, we send letters to residents and put up signs asking people not to park on the affected roads.
“Unfortunately, despite every effort being made to ask owners to move them, vehicles and other obstructions are often left on the road.
“In this case we could not trace the owner.”

also why suggest this article is not newsworthy by attributing it to a so called 'slow news day' then proceed to make your own comments about it.
