Scouts from all parts of the county and and surrounding region celebrated the birthdays of Lord and Lady Baden-Powell with a service at St Thomas’s Church, Southwick.

The service was organised by the Wiltshire West Active Support Unit and led by the Rev Joanna Abecassis, priest in charge of Holy Trinity, Bradford on Avon.

The congregation included the mayors of Trowbridge and Warminster and leaders and members from Bath, Dorset, Frome, Salisbury, Swindon, the Trefoil Guild and West Wilts.

Members renewed their Scout and Guide promises and a retiring collection in aid of Cancer Research was taken in memory of a former Active Support member, Ken Strange.

Following the service, on February 17, refreshments were served by 1st Southwick Guides.
