Stroll through woodland in search of spring

IT MAY have been bitterly cold this week, but members of the Somerset Wildlife Trust, East Mendip Group, still hope to see the first signs of spring when they take a trek through woodland on Sunday afternoon.

Keeping a sharp eye out for early spring flowers and birds, local expert Jim Rosser leads the walk around the ancient Postlebury woods near Trudoxhill, Frome.

The route is not suitable for those with limited mobility and no dogs are allowed, but walkers are urged to bring binoculars and camera to make the most of the sights.

Meet at Withan Friary car park, OS map 183 ST 744 409 at 2pm or call 01373 463875.
