Concerns raised for Trowbridge centre as team removed

Selwood Housing has stressed it will not change the services provided at a community centre after removing the volunteer team that has run it for 13 years.

As part of a tenancy review, which saw volunteer group Selwood Tenants’ Voice come to an end, the organisation took control of the Manor Road Resource Centre that was overseen by Studley Green Tenants’ and Residents’ Association.

A Selwood spokesman said it was not stopping activities and none of the equipment was being taken away.

It provides a computer club, a credit union workshop, coffee mornings and a Friday TARA drop-in session.

TARA chairman John Alford has complained to Selwood. He said: “We have spent thousands and thousands of pounds and everything we have got there is through our hard work.”

a bit of support cos at the time first were seriously considering stopping the bus service up here i was appalled at the nature of what happened a kid ran out in front of the bus to make it stop then it was pelted with big stones even the police were not that interested but once the wiltshire times got involved the police took an interest but not one person from the TARA or anyone else offered any support or even got involved so thats how good the Tara was
