Wiltshire Police is appealing for witnesses after a woman was assaulted on the 234 First Bus from Chippenham to Melksham on Thursday.
The woman, who is in her 20s and from Trowbridge, didn’t suffer any injuries in the incident which took place at 10.45pm.
In connection with the offence, a 37-year-old Trowbridge man was arrested that night on suspicion of common assault. He has since been released on bail pending further enquiries.
Wiltshire Police’s Local Crime Investigator Peter Ellison said: “Other passengers were thankfully able to come to the woman’s assistance which meant she did not sustain any injuries.
"I am keen to speak to those people who were on the bus at the time and either witnessed the incident or has any information in relation to it.”
Any witnesses can call LCI Ellison on 101.
