Lemar comes to Virgin's rescue

SOUL sensation Lemar will tonight replace Katie Price and Peter Andre as a last minute VIP guest at Virgin Mobile's Christmas party.

Katie, formerly known as Jordan, and her pop star husband Peter Andre were booked for the festive bash at Club Ice in Westbury, but cancelled on Tuesday because they want to take things easier now she's expecting her third child.

After some frantic calls, Brit Award winner Lemar, who shot to fame as a contestant in reality television show Fame Academy, came to the rescue and will perform a selection of his hit songs for the crowd of over 1,000 guests.

Party organiser Abi Signorelli, said: "We were really looking forward to having Peter and Katie there, but I totally understand their reasons for cancelling.

"Having said that we were overwhelmed to get Lemar at such short notice and are very excited that he could make it. It has been a fantastic effort from the team to get the party organised."

Radio One DJ Trevor Nelson will also be at the 1970s themed bash, along with Abba and Barry White tribute acts.

The Virgin Mobile Christmas party is known for attracting big-name stars, and in previous years Radio One's DJ Spoony, the Sugababes and R&B singer Estelle have all attended.
