Alzheimer's Society stages fundraising Memory Walk in Corsham
The Wiltshire branch of the Alzheimer’s Society is looking for dedicated walkers to join their biggest annual fundraiser next month in Corsham Court.
The Memory Walk will take place on Sunday, September 8, when families and individuals of all ages will step out to raise funds to help support people with dementia and their carers.
Organised in association with Bupa Care Homes, the walk will raise money to help people in Wiltshire living with the disease.
Rachael Sweet from Alzheimer’s Society in Wiltshire said: “It’s a fantastic way to spend a Sunday.
“From a four-year-old to his 80-year-old gran, Memory Walk sees whole families coming together to fight dementia. Additionally an array of entertainment and refreshments will be available making it a lovely day out for everyone who takes part.
“There are two different routes; a one-mile circular walk and a four-mile one which goes out into the countryside, and back in by the sheep at Corsham Court.
“It should be a really good, fun event. We’ll have lots of people there, with live music for the walkers.
“Everyone taking part will get a T-shirt with a number on, and space to write any dedications or messages.”
