Wiltshire Council ponders club’s compensation claim
3:00pm Friday 6th September 2013 in News
Wiltshire Council has received a compensation claim from Westbury Amateur Swimming Club for money lost while the swimming pool was closed from March to June.
The compensation claim is for about £3,000 and takes into account the members the club has lost, as well as travel expenses, costs for using other pools and refunds for cancelled sessions.
The pool was originally expected to close for three-four weeks from March 4 so repairs could be carried out after the new pool lining failed.
Further issues resulted in the opening being put back to June 10.
A spokesman for Wiltshire Council said: “We are able to confirm that we have received an email from the swimming club which is currently receiving consideration; we shall respond in due course.”
