Cake from Warminster for your donations
The branch of Waitrose in Warminster is donating cakes to the Wiltshire Times fundraising effort for our Breast Cancer Awareness Month special edition.
Next Friday’s supplement will have stories about readers who have either battled the disease or lost loved ones to it. On Friday the 50 Waitrose cakes will be in our reception for readers who make a donation to the appeal.
Pam Parsons, the personnel manager for Waitrose in Warminster, said: “It is a disease that affects a lot of people directly and indirectly.
“That is the case for several of our partners at Warminster and that is why we want to support the charity.
“A few of the girls have run Race for Life and the Moonwalk in Bath. It is a charity close to our hearts.
There is only one week left to send in pictures and messages to be published in the Wiltshire Times’s special supplement, dedicated to loved ones who fought and won against the disease, are still battling it, or who have lost their lives.
There is a collecting tin in our reception area and the Wiltshire Times will be donating 2p from every copy of the special edition and 10 per cent from supplement advertisement revenue to the cause.
Next Friday will also be a pink fundraising day for staff and the total amount raised will be announced at the end of October.
