Wheel-y fun way to raise cash in Trowbridge for flag

Members of Wiltshire’s Women’s Royal British Legion put pedal to metal for a Trowbridge indoor bikeathon, raising funds to buy a new county standard.
Four members took part in the endurance event, at The Shires shopping centre, receiving donations of £131 which has helped pay for a new standard to be used at events in coming years.
Marie Nunn, Julie Carter, Melissa Butt and Sandy Perry managed to cycle 129 miles between them on an exercise bike, being cheered on by shoppers.
Ms Perry, branch secretary, said: “We had a brillant time. Trowbridge’s mayor David Halik came down to support us and the general support we had was amazing.
“We’d like to thank everyone who has donated. We are pleased to get a new county standard as our previous one was getting a little tatty.”
