VisitWiltshire is using today’s opening of the £27m Stonehenge Visitor Cenre to boost tourism visits and spend to Wiltshire.

It has secured two huge 60inch screens to be used to promote Wiltshire at the centre.

The first of these screens will be showing a new VisitWiltshire video running on a continual loop.

The intention is to encourage visitors to find out more by visiting www.visitwiltshire.co.uk or download its Wiltshire apps. Places featured prominently in the video include Salisbury, Devizes, Bradford on Avon, Chippenham, Swindon, Marlborough, Lacock, Castle Combe, Stourhead, Avebury, Longleat, Caen Hill, White Horses, as well as shopping, eating and drinking.

The second screen will be showing three digital panels encouraging people to stay in Wiltshire accommodation, explore the surrounding area, enjoy Wiltshire attractions and events.

The video and digital panels are to the right of the ticket desk so are unmissable and give high impact.

David Andrews, chief executive of VisitWiltshire, said: “There’s no option but for every visitor to Stonehenge to see our new video and digital panels, so this gives us a unique opportunity to reach out to visitors and encourage them to discover more and to stay longer in Wiltshire.

“Our video and digital panels are the only way for Wiltshire tourism businesses to target visitors at Stonehenge so being on our website and apps is a great benefit to our 530 Partners.

“I’m not aware of anywhere else in the country where a tourist board has secured this sort of exclusive promotional platform at a visitor attraction, so to have done so at one of the world’s most iconic attractions is a great coup.”
