The Royal Mail has insisited last-minute Christmas post will be delivered on time today, as Wiltshire recovers from extensive flooding.
Many roads across the county have bene blocked by fallen trees and burst rivers and streams, but postal staff will be working as normal, in what is their busiest time of year.
A Royal Mail spokesman said; “Our postmen and women are out delivering as normal today across Wiltshire.
"All our delivery offices will be open on Christmas Eve for customers to collect parcels if they have received a ‘something for you’ card while they were out and we have been working around the clock to deliver mail in time for Christmas.”
