Firefighters' strikes on New Year’s Eve passed without any major incidents.
In Westbury and Bradford on Avon there were two false alarms while a crew went out to an incident in Cricklade.
The industrial action, which took place between 6.30pm on New Year’s Eve and 12.30am on New Year’s Day, was part of the ongoing national dispute between the Fire Brigades’ Union and the Government over pension reforms.
Crews at 10 of Wiltshire’s 24 fire stations were unavailable to respond to incidents during the strike. As part of Wiltshire Fire & Rescue Service’s contingency plan cover was available throughout Wiltshire, if required.
Another strike is planned to take place between 6.30am and 8.30am tomorrow.
