The Royal International Air Tattoo at RAF Fairford has been named tourism event of the year 2014.
The tattoo, which each July attracts more than 100,000 spectators, scooped top honours in the Cotswold Tourism Awards 2014.
Judges cited recent innovations introduced by the world’s biggest military airshow, including the new service stations with its food courts, street entertainment and free wi-fi hubs, as setting it apart from other events.
The 2014 tattoo will take place from July 11 to 13 where special celebrations will be held to mark the 50th anniversary of the Red Arrows display season.
Early bird tickets for the airshow are available until the end of January from www.airtattoo.com or by calling 0800 107 1940.
