Trowbridge Area Board handed out grants of more than £7,000 during their meeting at County Hall last Thursday.

Trowbridge Sports Forum was given £5,000 towards buying a new mini bus and the Big Community Grow where rewarded with £1,000 to purchase a marquee to be used during the annual Trow-bridge Apple Festival.

Trowbridge Sea Cadets was given £1,000 for roof repairs to their premises, and mental health charity Wiltshire Mind was given £494 to buy a laptop for their Trowbridge peer support group.

The Mead Community Primary School, in Hilperton, received £500 to buy a new shed for their gardening club and West Wilts Model Railway Circle was given £345.70 to help with their move from Andil House to a unit at the former Holt Tannery.
