Church Street in Trowbridge is expected to be closed to motorists until Thursday, February 6 as a continual road service problem is dealt with.

A pedestrian crossing which connects to Sainsbury’s is being repaired.

A Wiltshire Council spokesperson said: “We’re sorry for any inconvenience the current roadworks are causing however the work will permanently rectify long standing issues with the road.

“The ground beneath the road will be compacted and given a firmer foundation and the blocks are being replaced with an imprinted surface which will result in a change to the colour of the surface. This will alert drivers to the crossing.”
