Wiltshire Police have appealed for information following an aggravated burglary in Westbury in which the occupants were threatened by two masked men.

The incident took place between 9pm and 9.45pm last Thursday at a house in Leigh Park Way, Westbury.

The two men entered the home by an unlocked door, where they then threatened the three occupants and stole a quantity of cash.

The offenders escaped using a red Vauxhall Corsa driving away in the direction of Frome.

Despite the threats, no-one was harmed during the incident.

Inspector Alan Webb said: "This was an extremely serious offence and we are providing specialist resources to investigate this matter.

"I want to assure the people of Westbury that this is an extremely unusual event in the town and we have increased targeted partols in the area to provide reassurance."

The suspects were both described as white, late 20s, wearing balaclavas or face coverings. One wore a beige, thigh-length jacket and the other a black jacket.

Anyone with information is asked to contact PC Tom Fenwick at Melksham CID on 101 or Crimestoppers anonymously on 0800 555 111.
