Trowbridge couple Berni Crowley and Jonathon Perry become the first couple to get married at the new ceremonial room at County Hall in Trowbridge on Saturday.
There are 100 weddings booked to take place at the register offices and Wiltshire Council leader Jane Scott attended Saturday’s couple to congratulate the newlyweds.
Gwyn Hughes, the General Register Office’s head of delivery partnership unit, said he was pleased with the quality of the facilities.
He said: "We were immensely impressed with all we saw on our visit. Both in respect to the improvements being made to the delivery of the registration service, and more generally Wiltshire Council's vision and customer focus.
"I wish the team well in taking the service forward."
The new suite replaces the former register office across the road from County Hall at The Chestnuts.
