Prosecutors have dropped the charges against two men accused of carrying out an assault last summer.
Neil Sutherland and Darren Healey were due to face trial after pleading not guilty to a charge of actual bodily harm.
But the case brought back before Swindon crown court in Friday and the Crown offered no evidence.
Neither 29-year-old Sutherland or Healey, 35, were present to hear Judge Tim Mousley QC return formal not guilty verdicts.
It had been alleged that Sutherland, of Francis House, Frome Road, and Healey, of Willow Grove, both Trowbridge, had assaulted Sean O'Brien on Saturday July 13 last year.
