Melksham Seniors 55+ Forum hopes to connect older and younger generations thanks to a donation from Blenheim House Care Home.

The Melksham care home received £500 for getting to the finals of the Pinders Heathcare Design Awards and has presented it to the forum, which was set up two years ago.

Helen Short, life enrichment manager at the home, said: “We want to make links with them because they are starting a Melksham Shed Club and some of our residents are interested in going to it.”

Brian Warwick, co-ordinator of the forum, said: “We are helping to combat social isolation and teaching older people IT skills on tablets and smart phones.

"To be able to link in with their grandchildren would be fantastic.”
