A Chippenham man who is charged with carrying out a violent robbery has been released on bail by a judge.
Daniel Payne, 25, is accused of mugging a man in Melksham on Saturday, November 22, last year.
Payne, of Southmead, Chippenham, is said to have taken a wallet, mobile phone, bank cards, driving licence and £20 cash during the alleged incident.
No charge was put to Payne during the brief hearing at Swindon Crown Court on Friday and he did not enter a plea.
Judge Douglas Field released him on bail until Friday, May 9, on the condition he stays out of Melksham and does not contact witnesses.
