Aspiring young models can take part in Future Faces, a modelling competition with a difference which supports individuality while raising awareness for the charity Stand Against Violence.

The competition, which has several stages, is open to teenagers and has three age categories: 13-15, 16 and 17 and 18 and 19.

Candidates can pre-register their interest to get an information pack with details about the competition, before registering at The Shires Shopping Centre in Trowbridge on March 29 from 10am-2pm where headshots will be taken.

Successful candidates, 20-25 people from each category, will be notified by text and appear in a fashion show at the Civic Centre in Trowbridge on April 27.

The event is organised by Wayne Palmer and Dale Hattey, who recently turned their passion for community and charity events into their own events business called Cow Parsley.

Mr Palmer said: “This competition is open to everyone; there are no restrictions and no judgment. We don’t want it to be a stereotypical modelling competition; it is all about the personality. That is why we are linking it with Stand Against Violence.

“Everyone in some form has been bullied and we want to build their confidence and make them feel better in themselves.”

On the day of the final, the models will have catwalk training, a photo shoot and take part in a Stand Against Violence workshop.

Mr Palmer added: “It is important for them to recognise why we are doing this. We want to raise awareness and get the charity recognised in Wiltshire.”

The finalists will take part in the fashion show, but there will be no hair or make up on the day and they will wear the clothes they want.

Mr Hattey said: “This is all about their personal style and how they represent themselves. It is about the individual, not about how we style the individual.

“We hope to see a good representation of everyday people and are encouraging as many people as we can to turn up on March 29.”
