Police trace taxi from Trowbridge to arrest spitting thief
A thief attempting to steal alcohol from Trowbridge’s Tesco Extra petrol station has been cautioned by police after he spat in the face of a woman worker who challenged him.
The 52-year-old man from Newport in Wales spat in her face after she approached him, left the petrol station without stealing any alcohol and got into a taxi.
Store staff called Wiltshire Police who tracked the taxi, stopped it and arrested the man.
He was given a caution and released.
