Children in Melksham are to benefit from fundraising by the town’s Masonic Lodge.
£550 was raised by the Chaloner Lodge, based in Church Street, at its annual ladies’ night and presented on Wednesday to the charity Splash, started by Wiltshire Police 25 years ago.
A Past Master of the lodge, John Fisher, organised the ladies night which is held every year for wives and guests. It was held at the Assembly Hall on March 8 when 100 people had a meal and danced from 7pm until midnight. Splash was the nominated charity.
Mr Fisher said: “All the money will go for children in the Melksham area. I think £500 pays for an outdoor activity.”
