Warminster Town Council and the Warminster and Villages Community Partnership have identified a list of out of date or inaccurate signs around the town to be changed.

Councillors and members of the partnership walked around town detailing obsolete signs, and those on which information needs updating or were in the wrong place.

A list of 50 recommendations was drawn up. Additional signs to highlight facilities not currently well signposted, including the civic centre, the town park and the coach park, were earmarked.

Town development committee chairman Rob Fryer said: “The opportunity to review the signs in the town and update it by removing those not required any longer, while updating some information, means visitors and local residents will benefit in navigating their way around the town.”

It is hoped the new programme will be implemented by Wiltshire Council during the next few months.
