One key member of the Trowbridge team heading to Twickenham is hoping she won’t be called on during the game, but will still be on standby pitch-side just in case.

Chiropractor Dr Kay Pearce has been the team’s physio for ten years, and is also gearing up for the biggest game of her career.

“I wouldn’t miss it for the world”, she said.

“Myself and my colleague Alec are both going down and we’ll be there pitch-side.

“We will travel with them, so we’ll be there before the game if they have any injuries they need dressing, whether taping to protect any ongoing injuries, or warming them up, and obviously looking after them for any injuries which happen during the game.”

The mother-of-two, who works during the week at Westbury’s Maristow Chiropractic Clinic, has built up a close relationship with the players during her many sessions with them.

She said: “We know those who need frequent treatment, the ones who are injury-prone, and others who are more robust.

“I was with them when they got promoted last time and when they got relegated, so I’ve been there for the highs and lows, but this is a massive high.

“I hope I won’t be needed, but at the same time it would be amazing to run on the pitch at Twickenham, so maybe I could come on for a small bump or a little knock, but nothing serious.”
