Visitors to a 15th century manor house near Melksham can support a local children’s charity on Sunday, at its annual plant sale.

The event has been organised by Robert and Patsy Floyd, tenants at Great Chalfield Manor, to raise funds for Box-based charity Jamie’s Farm, which offers a taste of country life to inner-city children.

Mrs Floyd said: “The whole idea is to get people to come and spend a bit more time and have lunch here, so we’ve got a Pimm’s bar and a hog roast.

“It should be a really nice day out, and it’s only £3 to get in.

“Jamie’s Farm is such a great charity. We were very involved with it at the beginning about eight years ago, and they do so much good work.”

The plant sale starts at 10.30am, and runs until 4pm.
