A plea has been made for the loan of cooking facilities to enable charity walkers to have a breakfast.

Organisers of the White Horse Challenge are searching for someone who can cook bacon, eggs and sausages and serve teas, coffee and orange juice for walkers on the second day of a 52-mile walk through the countryside.

The caterer who helped out last year is unavailable.

Zoe Meaden, of co-organisers Monahans chartered accountants, said: “We have got all the food donated, we just need someone with a catering van. In the past we have done it with barbecues but we also need facilities for hot water.”

The event is on Sunday, July 6, and a caterer would be needed at Preshute Church, Marlborough, from about 6am to 7.30am.

The walkers will have walked about 27 miles the previous day and the breakfast gives them a hearty start to set them on their way to complete the two day challenge.
