A range of weaponry will be put to good use in Lacock, to raise funds for a riding charity.

Lacock Riding for the Disabled is holding a country pursuits day on June 29, with tickets available for £35.

Chairman Linda Reed said: “We have got clay pigeon shooting, air rifles, archery, axe-throwing, catapults and crossbows.

“Included in the price will be all the cartridges and clays, as well as tea and coffee and pizza, and everybody will be given training.

“You can come as a team of three, otherwise we will put everyone into teams, with prizes for first, second and third, though mostly it’s for the honour and glory.

“Everything raised is going to benefit Lacock RDA, which caters for children with physical and learning difficulties from the age of six to 16. We’re hoping to raise money for a new pony.”

The day starts at 10am at Owl Lodge, on Forest Lane. Call Mrs Reed on 07980 834126 or email lacockrda@gmail.com
