Brothers Alfie and Charlie Waker have raised £370 to help their favourite breed of dogs, the Alaskan Malamute.

The boys held a tea and cake sale along with a raffle on Thursday at the Bratton Pavilion to raise funds for the charity Alaskan Malamute Rescue UK.

Mum Hayley Waker said: “A large number of these dogs have been dumped across the country in appalling conditions. They want to do all they can to help.”

Dog lovers Alfie, nine, and Charlie, five, have two Malamutes, Mouse and Morris, at their home in Matravers Close, Westbury, as well as a collie called Fizz.

Bratton School pupil Alfie, said: “I like the dogs because they are good in the snow.”

Charlie, who also attends Bratton, said: “They are very fluffy and pretty in black and white and fun to be with.”

The raffle prizes at the sale were donated by The Co-operative supermarket and Tesco Express.

Alfie raised £2,500 for abandoned horses in May 2013 by cycling 35 miles from the Wadworth Brewery in Devizes to the Horse-World in Bristol, a charity that takes in neglected horses, ponies and donkeys.
