Children can have more fun on the farm as Hartley Farm in Winsley expands its pet corner and creates a new farm trail.

Little Hartley Farm will have a new log cabin for drinks and sandwiches when it opens at the beginning of this month and it will be a base for workshops and children’s events.

Rabbits, guinea pigs and chickens will be getting up to mischief in their hutches in the new pets corner and there will be new toys and a large wooden tractor and slide to play on.

The 1.5 mile trail will take people through the countryside surrounding the farm where they can see horses, chickens and cows and learn more about how the farm operates.

Manager Tom Bowles said: “Little Hartley Farm is a great space filled with farm toys, small animals and information on how we farm along with our summer café that will be serving up our great coffee, local ice creams and healthy snacks for all the family.

“We’re really excited about this next project and it really fits with our core purpose of being both fun and educational, with great food at the centre to boot.”
