Immigration enforcement officers made ten arrests at four restaurants in Chippenham last night.
Four raids were carried out simultaneously at 6.15pm by Home Office immigration teams from Bristol and Plymouth.
A 25-year-old, a 28-year-old and a 29-year-old were arrested at Akash on The Bridge.
A 31-year-old Indian man, a 21-year-old and a 34-year-old were arrested at Taj Mahal on The Causeway.
A 25-year-old, a 27-year-old and a 32-year-old were arrested at Cafe India in New Road.
A 24-year-old was arrested at Ashoka in Market Place.
All were arrested on suspicion of immigration offences.
The Home Office said all the suspected illegal workers were men and Bangladeshi nationals, apart from the Indian man.
All arrested were transferred to immigration detention pending removal from the UK.
PC John Brixey, community beat manager for Chippenham town centre, said: “These were not instigated by the police. They were dealt with by immigration services who had built up intelligence.
"We were there to act as a link with the community and make sure there was no disorder.
“They were carried out very successfully with minimal disturbance.”
