Pupils from primary schools across Trowbridge spoke about environmental issues for this year’s Trowbridge in Bloom Little Bloomers Year 6 public speaking competition, at the town hall.
West Ashton, The Grove, The Mead, Hilperton and Oasis Academy Longmeadow primary schools each entered a team of three Year 6 children to speak on one of two questions last Wednesday.
The speeches were judged by Cllr Helen Osborn, Alan Drew, Rotary Club of Trowbridge Wessex Mead president, Barbara Buchan, Trowbridge Lions, Helen Feierabend, Sainsbury’s and Ally Fox, Trowbridge Schoolwear.
The first prize shield, sponsored by Trowbridge Lions, went to Oasis Academy Longmeadow, while the second place cup, sponsored by Windauga Windows, was awarded to Hilperton.
Jennifer Polledri, chairman of Trowbridge in Bloom, said: “The standard of this year's Little Bloomers public speaking competition was extremely high. Thanks must go to the judges and sponsors.”
