Systemagic, a company which has an office in Trowbridge, has been named Micro Employer of the Year in a prestigious apprentice award scheme.

Staff from the company accepted the prize at the Bristol and Bath Apprenticeship Awards on June 18 in Bristol.

James Eades, managing director, said: “This award is a tribute to us and our commitment to encouraging apprentices.

“We’re very honoured to have received the award.

“We’ve been working with the City of Bath College for seven years offering apprenticeships and it’s thrilling to be recognised for that.”

The successful company provides IT support for businesses across the south west and prides itself on encouraging young people to come into the sector.

It aims to have at least one apprentice on its team at any one time.

Currently the apprentice is 20-year-old William Barnes.

The company has a head office in Bath and an office on the Bryer Ash Business Park in Trowbridge.

The Bristol and Bath Apprenticeships Awards recognise businesses that help drive apprenticeship schemes as well as those apprentices.

This year the awards were an amalgamation of the previously separate Bristol Post and Bath Chronicle Apprenticeship Awards.
