Chef Peter Vaughan has been announced as a patron for local charity Splash as it celebrates its 25th year supporting young people in Wiltshire.

Mr Vaughan, who runs the Bistro and Vaughan's Kitchen cookery school in the Little Brittox, Devizes, has been involved with the charity for several years providing expert advice and tuition on food related projects for Splash.

Having recently attended the Friends of Splash get together to celebrate 25 years, he said: “I love this small charity that does such fantastic work with young people in Wiltshire who are facing challenges in their lives.

"I have seen first-hand the positive impact Splash projects have on building self esteem and confidence and equipping these young people with essential life skills.”

Next month, Mr Vaughan will be leading a Splash project which will involve a special foraging expedition in Savernake Forest.

The group will search for ingredients for the Wiltshire-flavoured drinks and canapés that Peter Vaughan is creating for the Splash celebration event ‘Inspire’.

The evening celebration will take place on Friday 10 October, at Marlborough Town Hall and will also be attended by another Splash patron - Bear Grylls.
