TROWBRIDGE looked at its blooming best to welcome South West in Bloom judges.

The judges visited Biss Meadows Country Park, Town Park, Fore Street market, a Songs of Praise floral display at St James’ Church and the Sensory Garden.

They were accompanied by representatives of the Town Council and participating groups last Wednesday.

Their day included a short tour of residential gardens, presentations at the Civic Centre and a buffet lunch.

Bill Austin, head of direct services at the town council, said: “We certainly hope that all of the efforts made by everyone involved will bring the town its third South West in Bloom Gold Award and, hopefully, the ultimate accolade of the St Bridget Cup.”

Winners will be announced at an awards night at the Civic Centre on September 18.

Trowbridge in Bloom’s own contest winners include Walwayne Court Primary, St James’ Church, United Church, Dorothy House Out-reach Centre and Harm Farm Close Allotments.
