A teenage boy attacked by two men in Trowbridge last week was helped home by three mystery Samaritans.
The 17-year-old was walking home on the footpath between Larkrise School and Leap Gate in Hilperton last Wednesday (20th), when he was approached by the unknown pair at approximately 10.40pm.
One of the males asked him for cigarettes, while a second came out of nearby bushes and approached him from behind.
They patted him down, before punching him in the face and the side of his head.
The victim managed to break free, and ran off towards Leap Gate. His injuries are not thought to be serious.
The first male is described as white, between 16-18 years old, around 5ft 9in tall, with short black hair. He was wearing a light coloured top and jeans.
The second male is described as white, between 16-18 years old, around 5ft 9in tall, with blonde hair. He was wearing a dark coloured top and jeans.
Officers are particularly keen to speak to the three people who walked the boy back to his home address following the assault. They would also like to hear from anyone who witnessed the incident or may know the identity of the suspects.
Anyone with information is asked to contact DC Jo Chesshire at Wiltshire Police on 101 or Crimestoppers on 0800 555 111 where information can be left anonymously.
