At the last meeting of the Mid Wilts Video Society members watched the entries for the annual competition.

There are no categories, but entries must be no longer than five minutes. The independent judge Philip Marshman, secretary of the Frome Film and Video Makers, selected the best entry for content, expertise and enjoyment as well as selecting the video for best editing.

This year’s entries were extremely varied: from making maple-syrup lollipops in the snowy Canadian forests; through the waterway between St Petersburg to Moscow; and the various antics of monkeys and cats.

Tony Bridger won first prize with his video of cats entitled Feline Frolics. Second was Jane Copland for her visit to Caldy Island and third to Philip Fowler for his video of his trip by boat from St Petersburg to Moscow. The prize for best editing went to Tony Bridger.
