TOUR of Britain spectators will now be able to find the best spot to watch the elite cyclists speed through Wiltshire’s towns and villages.

Wiltshire Council now has a dedicated website area showing the best places to watch, the full route details, a map and expected race arrival times and safety advice.

Stage six of the highly anticipated event sets off from Bath on September 12, entering Wiltshire at about 10.20am. It weaves around the county, through Bradford on Avon, Trowbridge, Devizes and Pewsey and other places, before heading for West Berkshire.

Most of the route is not suitable for vehicles to access viewing spots or park and Wiltshire Council and Wiltshire Police have appealed to spectators not to park on the race route.

The council website can help communities take their pick of the best points to watch cyclists reach up to 40kmh.

It has details of the rolling programme of road closures, the latest Friends Life Tour of Britain news and how communities along the route can get involved both in the tour and the huge programme of events and activities being hosted along the route. See www.wiltshire.gov.uk/tourofbritain
