A Trowbridge-based sign and graphics business has reached a milestone this week. Unique Signs & Graphics, which offers shop signs, banners, stickers, pavement signs, vehicle graphics and displays, celebrated 10 years of trading on Wednesday.

In 2004 father and son, Gregg Suggitt (Snr) and Gregg Suggitt (Jnr) recognised an opportunity to provide a much-needed sign service in Trowbridge. Opening a small workshop in Court Street with basic equipment, the business soon started to grow.

In 2007 they bought a digital print and cut machine which opened the door to producing high-end graphics on a wider scale. During this year they also employed Adelle Thompson, who brought a whole new dimension to the business with her love for graphic design.

The business moved to bigger premises in 2010, on the Riverway Industrial estate, Trowbridge, where they remain to this day. During this move Gregg (Jnr) took charge of the business.

The new workshop had space to handle bigger projects and allowed for a higher focus on vehicle graphics and the application of vinyls in a clean and dry environment.

The larger premises facilitated the addition of a wider and faster digital print machine. Tim Hobbs joined the team in 2011 on a part-time basis, bringing many years of experience working in the sign industry, being originally a traditional signwriter. He is now a full-time member of staff and runs the production side of the business alongside Adelle. Dad Gregg (Snr) is now working part time on the fitting side of the business.

Unique Signs hopes to build on the success of its first 10 years by staying at the forefront of the constantly changing world of signmaking by carrying forward its ethos of listening to the needs of its customers and providing a great service at a competitive price.

It has built an excellent reputation by using only high-quality materials, much of its work coming from recommendations.

“I would like to thank all the local companies who use our services,” says Gregg (Jnr). “I have had to work extremely hard over the past 10 years but have enjoyed a wide-ranging experience, producing and applying graphics to everything from a drum kit to a helicopter.

“I am really proud of what has been achieved so far. I must thank my parents for their support since the beginning and I look forward to a continuing success in the years to come.”
