Two Bradford on Avon Riding for the Disabled instructors have raised more than £1,000 for the charity with a 50 mile challenge through Wiltshire on Sunday.
Jo Rutherford and Kady Chatman instruct disabled riders every week at Saxon Group RDA in Bradford and took on the challenge with Mrs Rutherford’s daughter Holly, 23.
Their version of a triathlon included a 30 mile cycle, a 10 mile horse ride, using two of the group’s horses, followed by a 10 mile run.
Mrs Rutherford, 52, said: “It was very tiring. The weather was warm so it made it harder, but it went very well.
“The horse ride was the best part. We all had a lovely ride and the horses were very well behaved.
“Some of the group’s volunteers came to steward along the canal during the run and helped us by handing out drinks. They were a huge help."
They have raised £1,000 for RDA and Cancer Research UK, with more money still to come in.
Cancer Research UK was chosen as their second charity because Mrs Chatman, from Corsham, was diagnosed with breast cancer last year, and underwent intensive therapy and surgery to combat the disease.
