It was an enjoyable and educational day all round for visitors to Hartley Farm’s Summer Fair in Winsley on Sunday.

People got a chance to see how the farm works with tractor rides and farm trails, while people sampled local food and drink suppliers’ delights.

Children took part in hula hooping lessons and got their faces painted with their favourite animal.

The Winsley Village Project, which the farm is supporting this year, spoke about its work in developing countries with short-term famine relief and long-term medical aid and water projects.

Tom Bowles said: “We were over the moon with such a great turnout for what was a brilliant day.

“For us, there is nothing better than seeing the farm full of smiley faces.

“Our aim is to create an entertaining, but also educational environment on our farm and our Summer Fair celebrates that perfectly.”
