A woman in her 60s who fell on a hill near the A362 in Warminster yesterday was winched onto a Coastguard rescue helicopter and flown to hospital.
South Western Ambulance Service NHS Foundation Trust (SWASFT) was called just after 1.30pm and a paramedic in a rapid-response vehicle and an ambulance crew were sent.
On arrival they were able to assess the patient, who had suffered a possible fractured ankle, and began treatment.
Due to her location the Coastguard rescue helicopter was called for.
The rescue helicopter flew from Portland, Dorset, and the patient was winched on-board and flown to Salisbury District Hospital.
