A man is in a serious condition after being found injured in the early hours of Saturday in The Brittox, Devizes, after apparently being attacked.
He was taken to the Great Western Hospital, Swindon, with serious head injuries and was later transferred to hospital in Bristol.
Wiltshire Police said that one man, aged 20 from Bath, and two Devizes women, aged 19 and 26, had been arrested on suspicion of assault causing grievous bodily harm.
Police are appealing for any witnesses to call Melksham CID via 101.
The injured man, who is in a critical but stable condition, was found near the entrance to Boots at about 3am.
One entrance to Boots remained taped off on Saturday but the store was open as usual.
It is expected that CCTV footage from the area will be scrutinised.
