The Wiltshire West Cubs and 6th Devizes Cubs spent a recent weekend taking part in an Activity/Challenge Camp at the PGL centre at Liddington, near Swindon.

Altogether 63 Cubs and 11 leaders from six packs took part.

After a welcome meal on arrival, rooms were allocated and everyone settled in before the Cubs enjoyed very active wacky races before settling down for their first night.

There were eight activity zones to take part in over the weekend, described by Cubs as ‘awesome’, ‘brill’ and ‘ace’. The highlight for most Cubs was the zip wire and quad biking and the other events of archery, abseiling, climbing, aeroball, crate stacking and Jacobs ladder were undertaken with great enthusiasm. The weekend encouraged the Cubs to work as a team and gave them the opportunity to try new things.

There was even an eighth birthday celebrated on the camp.

The Cubs enjoyed a campfire on the Saturday night and everyone was in fine voice, with singing along with actions.

By the time they went home they were thoroughly exhausted and had had a fantastic time.
