A group of cyclists has reached their target of raising £5,000 in a cycling challenge for Dorothy House in Winsley over the weekend.
Danny Carroll, 51 from Bristol, organised the event on November 2 because Dorothy House currently cares for his aunt, Margaret Aven.
He was joined by 10 other riders for the 100-mile challenge by friends, family and colleagues.
Mr Carroll said: “I think one reason why I completed it was that Dorothy House is a fantastic cause. People know it is a great facility. They not only supported Margaret, but also Bill (Margaret’s husband).”
The route started at Dorothy House in Winsley, went to Warminster and then via Mere, Gillingham and Blandford Forum.
The riders were greeted at Margaret’s home in Warminster with a welcoming party of 40 guests. Mr Carroll said some of the group are planning another event next year.
