Forget Me Not Care Ltd in Westbury has been crowned winner of our Win a Christmas lunch competition at Frankie & Benny’s in Trowbridge.
Hazel Mead, a senior carer, nominated the firm and it received twice as many votes from readers as the company which came second.
She said: “I’m really excited because I’ve never been to Frankie & Benny’s. It will be a first for me and I’m sure it will be a first for many others.
“It’s really nice that people have voted for us and that they appreciate our line of work.”
For two weeks we gave readers the chance to nominate local companies for the opportunity to win a meal for up to 20 people. The top 10 nominations were carefully selected by our in-house panel.
Forget Me Not provides home care to more than 70 elderly people across the county and its carers travel to homes across west Wiltshire and as far as Market Lavington.
Because of the demands of the work, not all 35 members of staff will be able to attend the meal so they have decided to organise another Christmas dinner for staff who miss out on the competition prize.
“We’re all carers and that means it’s a 24-hour, seven-day-a-week job so not everyone can go, but that is the nature of this type of work.
“We’re now trying to make sure that all members of staff are able to attend either event,” she added.
