Selwood Housing has unveiled the latest phase of its new affordable homes on the Castlemead estate in Trowbridge.
The nine properties – three three-bedroom houses and six one-bedroom apartments – will provide homes for up to 27 people in total. New tenants were due to move in on Wednesday this week.
Eventually Selwood will have 146 affordable homes on Castlemead – making it the company’s largest development this decade.
Selwood handed over the keys for 15 homes, built by Persimmon Homes, to tenants last month and is planning to deliver another 15 before Christmas.
Paul Walsh, development director for Selwood Housing, said: “The demand for the homes has been huge and it’s great to have this new community growing at Castlemead.
“There is already a school and while there is still a lot of work to do, once it is complete this will be a great area to live.
“There is a nice mix of affordable homes and private housing and Persimmon has done a really good job.”
Mayor of Trowbridge Glyn Bridges, who attended the opening, said: “It’s great to see the Castlemead development growing and there is a really nice mix of social and private housing, which had been well integrated.”
